Public Library

  The library was built in 1787 as a two-story, stone building. This structure was almost destroyed during the fire of 1879. Then it was reconstructed as a one-story building and very beautiful with wooden tracery railings. Unfortunately, the building didn't survive, but it was the beginning of the history of the contemporary Irkutsk Public Library.
