Titanesses and Female Predecessors

The Titans were a race of gods who were the parents and precursors of the Olympians. They were the offspring of the Earth (Gaia) and Sky (Uranus). Led by Kronos they became rulers of Olympia. But they were defeated by this younger generation of deities, who were led by Zeus. These are the females that are known as the Titanesses.
