Hades was the god of the underworld and ruler of the dead. He was king of the dead but not dead himself. For being the god of the underworld he was not heartless. He was known under several different names, Pluto 2, Aedoneus, Orcus, and Dis. Hades was worshiped only in Elis. Hades was one of the first generation of Olympians; he was also brother to, Zeus, Poseiden, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter.
