Argus

Argus was a monster in Greek mythology that was famous for having hundreds upon hundreds of eyes. He could see nearly everything in his vicinity. Because of Argus' astounding vision, he was regarded as the almost perfect mythological guard creature. Argus was ordered by the Gods to terrorise the land of Archadia, and destroy a little known about species that were killing Satyrs. He was also ordered to keep watch over Io, one of Zeus's mistresses, by Hera. But Io was turned into a heifer and killed after Argus was put to sleep by Hermes. In his honor, Hera took Argus' eyes in the tail of her favorite birt, the peacock.
