| The name Podcasts come frmo a combination
of iPod (personal digital audio player) and broadcasting.
However, you do not need an iPod to create or listen to
a podcast. You can use any MP3 player or even your own
computer.
Podcasts are audio or video files placed on the internet
for anyone to download or subscribe to.
Podcasting can be used for radio programs, audio and/or
video files, and music videos. When you subscribe to a
podcast the audio files automatically download to your
computer.
Podcasting was first demonstrated in 2004 by Adam Curry
(a former MTV video jockey) and David Winer (a software
developer).
Some podcast stations are itunes, Real player Quicktime
player, and Kazzaa.
