Artificial Intelligence – An Introduction

What, after all, is it, that makes us so different from anything around us? What shapes us, makes us who truly we our? What is it that makes us uniquely human? Is it just our ability to interact, to grow, our desire and need to change, to shape, to make our mark upon our surroundings, or is it something more, something much more complex, something much more deeper and enigmatic, something that defines our very existence. It is our skill that allows us to think, to understand, to comprehend and to make a choice. What truly makes us superior is not the choices that we make, but the fact that we can understand why we make them. It is intelligence that is the essence of life, what distinguishes us from everything else, and gives us that vital edge. It is what changes the way in which we see the world and look at it, the manner in which we perceive it, understand it.

But the phenomenon that we would be dealing with here is Artificial Intelligence, the science of inducing intelligence. Not only is achieving true Artificial Intelligence a Herculean task, but it is also thought to be, by many scientists, a feat, which is impossible to achieve. It has the power to change how we might see tomorrow or maybe even the tomorrow itself. With so many developmental aspects, and such input involved, we must not deviate from our true and original goal. We must not ignore the fact that essentially, it is not about artificial intelligence, it is more about the artificiality of intelligence. AI can be a dream come true. What we have seen is just the prelude. AI is here to change our lives - forever.
