Question:

According to our experiment, which snow salt is less corrosive to the metal than any others?

A. CaCl2
B. NaCl
C. MgCl2
D. NH4Cl

This research will be broken down into 4 parts:

A. Testing the freezing points of the various salt solutions.B. Testing the time of the ice melting process. C. Testing the effect of the salt solutions on the growth of plants. D. Testing the effect of the salts on a typical metal alloy.

The choice of the snow salts

Requirement: the salt must be safe and not very expensive. Here are the salts we choose:

1. CaCl2
2. K2SO4
3. (NH4)2HPO4
4. (NH4)2SO4
5. Na2SO4
6. NaCl (Rock Salt)
7. NH4Cl
8. MgSO4
9. CH3COONH4
10. MgCl2
11. KCl
12. Na2SO4
13. CH3COONa
14. K2HPO4
