The titans were the first children of Uranus.  They were the first gods taller than mountains.  They were meant to be kings and queens of the universe when Uranus or Gaea died.  The six titans took the six sisters to be their wives.  Uranus and Gaea were proud of their children.

When Gaea had more children, Uranus was not proud them.  These children were strong but ugly.  They had one eye in the center of their forehead.  They were the Cyclopes.  Uranus locked them in Tartarus.  As Uranus pushed them down with disgust, Gaea felt horrible that her children were being locked up.
