HIBERNATING DORMOUSE.

The dormouse hibernates (sleeps) through
the cold winter months in a warm nest
of leaves and grass. Its nest may be
under leaf litter or in a hollow
tree stump. The dormouse eats as
much as possible in the autumn and
may nearly double its body weight!
This helps it to survive during hibernation.
