The Owl
The Owl is one of the silent hunters of the
animal kingdom. There are 8 species of Owl.
This is some of them:

BARN OWL:
A Barn owl has an eerie shriek.
Often nests in old buildings or
hollow trees, and hunts small
mammels and roosting birds. It
is 34cm high.

LITTLE OWL:
A small,flat-headed owl. Flies low
over farmland and hunts at dusk.
nests in tree holes and bobs up and
down when curious.

PYGMY OWL:
Smallest owl in Europe. Often found
in mountain forests, but not in britain.
Has a whistling "Keeoo" call, and hunts
small birds in flight. It is about 16cm high.

SHORT EARED OWL:
Hunts in daylight and at dusk.
This fierce looking 37cm owl
eats voles and small mammals.
