Lemurs are very interesting animals. They are found only in Madagascar and the Comoro Islands. There are 63 types of lemurs; seventeen of them are on the endangered species list. Lemurs have long noses and toes; as a result, they have a great sense of smell! Lemurs also communicate by using their sense of smell. Their fingers are very flexible. Lemurs weigh about twelve pounds. Their tails are about two feet long, and they have very thick, soft fur. They are also very social animals. Here are some species of lemurs: Algotran Gentle Lemur, Red Ruffed Lemur, and the most common, the Ring Tailed Lemur. Lemurs are AMAZING primates!!!
