Beetle Bailey

Beetle Bailey was first shown as a paper comic strip in 1950.  Right away it was a great success!  Mort Walker, who was born in Kansas in the year 1923, created it.  Beetle Bailey is his most famous cartoon, but when it first came out, that was NOT the name of the character.  He was actually called “Spider.”  The basic story line of the cartoon is about “life gone nuts” on a military base.  Beetle is a real goofball, good for nothing man who his sergeant likes to pick on.  He can’t do anything right.  His boss, Sarge Snorkel, is always angry about something Beetle has done.

King Features Syndicate also distributed it.  If you like reading the Sunday newspaper, be sure to check out this hilarious comic.  From my point of view I would give it a perfect ten.  To see an example of this comic strip, Click HERE.
