Although obesity is not very common in Hmong Elders, Hmong adults have a high risk of being obese. The adults of this generation moved to the U.S. from Laos and Thailand when they were still children. They had more time to get used to the lifestyle of the United States and less time to get used to the lifestyle of Thailand and Laos.
Independent adults never find the time to eat healthy foods. They have such a tight schedules that they tend to eat fast foods. The foods that they used to eat are no longer in their daily diet. (Vang)
