Dear Barbara Boxer,
 
As an active member of the Upward Bound Alumni Association at California State University of Chico I am writing to you to inform you of mydeep concerns of the funding of Upward Bound. This program has played anintegral part in all alumni’s.
 
This deeply concerns me because as well as other alumni’s,we have siblings currently in the program or currently trying to get into theprogram.  It would be verydifficult for our parents to provide their children with the same opportunitiesthat Upward Bound offers.  As it isour families are face with financial burdens and this program helps alienatethe stress of getting their child to college.
 
Upward Bound helps my family and me at the same time.  Upward Bund is my extended family and Iknow that I can rely on the staff even though I am no longer aparticipant.  This program has beenan incredible resource to me. Please do not break up future Upward Bound families.  You can exclude us form the budget butnever our Upward Bound spirit. Once an Upward Bounder, always an Upward Bounder!
