Where is the money?
Many years ago, there was a small village consisting of quite a lot of families. Although they weren't rich, they always had everything they needed and they were really happy. But one day, the people in that village started to worry and feel stressed. They called the doctor in the nearby city and he told them to listen to music for 3 days and they'll feel better. Music CDs costed a lot at that time and the only rich person in the village was Alex.
The famous musician Alex never communicated with his friends and family when he was still alive. He liked to live in the mansion alone, playing music and composing songs. Rumours said that he had 50 million hidden in his house.
He lived alone for 14 years. Suddenly, he died mysteriously.
The next day, his friends and relatives appeared at his mansion. Hoping to get a glimpse of Alex's money. But they just found many musical things, everything BUT the money.
"Where is my father's money?" Alex's daughter Jane asked.
"You know your dad was short-tempered. He never told me about the money," the security guard answered.
As a matter of fact, when Jane was young and asked her father for money to pay the school fees, her father would always say, "Didn't I mention it before? You shouldn't pay for the school fees. I you really need to, ask the government." Jane was still young then and didn't understand. So she stole a few of her dad's music and sold it. Alex was so furious that he banned Jane from even stepping into his hourse unless under his orders.
Alex had passed away, and Jane had become the legal person to receive the money. But the problem is, the others wanted the money as much as she did. They found a note on books Alex wrote and designed himself. It wrote:
These books are to be given away to the public libraries.
Suddenly, a relative burst into the house, shouting, "I just asked the bank, they said that Alex took all the money from his bank account before he died in big notes." Everyone stared at the security guard because he was the only one around Alex in the mansion. The guard admitted that he did see Alex typing the big notes into huge stacks. But he was shooed from the room before he could even ask.
In detective stories, people put their money behind the wallpaper. But every inch behind the wallpaper was searched, and nothing was found. Not even a measly 1 dollar.
Jane was disturbed too see their house being searched and stacks of books piled up on the floor. At that time, the car from the local library arrived.
"Aha! I know where are the money..." Jane screamed, half laughing.
Everyone stared at her.
