About this Project
We were composed of five girls from Form 1U. We had some arguments over the topic of the website at first due to totally different interests: Cheryl wanted to do something about animals (especially horses), Elizabeth wanted to do Wikka and Tammy liked computers. But at last we agreed on doing about stress and divided the work among ourselves. Stephanie looked for food, Cheryl looked for animals and sports, Elizabeth looked for haiku, Christie looked for music and Tammy looked for art.
We mostly used Macromedia Dreamweaver to construct the webpages. For some of us who didn't have Dreamweaver at home, we used the computers at school to create the webpages. Stephanie, the president, assigned jobs to all of us. Christie, the vice-president, helped Stephanie, proof-read our paragraphs and added any neccessary information into the pages. Cheryl designed the website and made most of the images.
We really enjoyed doing this project and we learnt a lot more about computers and when we collected webpages from different members, we needed to collaborate even more than usual to unite the colours, fonts, backgrounds etc. Our friendship was stronger and we trusted each other more through this project and we all hope that we can have another opportunity to do a project like this again.
Straight from the members...
Stephanie:I feel very honoured that my group was chosen to participate in this time's Inter School THink Quest Competition. After months of hard work, it is definitely a pleasure to see our work all finished. The graphics, contents, games, designs of the website are all beautifully made by all of our group memebers. To conclude, I hope we would work harder to make this project into perfection and hope to let all readers to hope to know more about stress can learn something from our website!
Cheryl: I really enjoyed doing this website and learnt quite a lot of things from it. Including: stress (of course), collaboration, when to stand firm and when to accept others' ideas etc. With all those extra-cirricular activities, it was kind of hard to fit in web desiging and sometimes I had to work till past midnight. From that, I learnt to do the right things at the right time.
Elizabeth: Personally I think that doing it was kind of fun. Also, I think that good haikus are a source of inspiration to everyday life and artistry. I also and learnt to collaborate with the others. Overall, I find that working with this group of members was kind of fun.
Christie: After doing this project, I learnt more about stress, how to relieve stress and a lot more about music. I also enjoyed working with my teammates and learnt to deal with most of the problems. I also faced one major problem in all this - arranging for more time to finish the work when I had a gazillion things to do, but in the end, I managed to re-organize my time and hand in all that was required of me. In conclusion, I hope I'll have another opportunity to do this again.
Tammy: I was very lucky to be chosen as part of the team because I'm not really very good at computers. But still, my team members didn't look on me and they did quite the reverse. They taught me how to make my page, how to upload files and all those things. I learnt a lot not only about computers, stress and arts, but I learnt how powerful we can be if we all unite together. 1U will Unite in 1!
