~Welcome~

An unhealthy food is just the opposite of a healthy food.

These foods are acceptable to consume in moderation,

but should generally be avoided, as they provide our

bodies with fat and sugars. Frequently eating ‘‘junk food''

will make a person gain weight, have high cholesterol, have a

better chance of getting heart disease, and have cavities. They

taste even better with some sugar or fat added, which gives

food flavor, velour, and style, has been removed.

Both healthy and unhealthy foods may be palatable, enjoyable

to eat, and easy to prepare. While unhealthy foods are usually

better tasting than their opposites, fruits and vegetables are two

examples of scrumptious edibles. It is quite fortunate that each

of us may enjoy both types of food, and allow one to complement

the other. Many of the menu items contain a whopping 1,000

calories in one meal. That's 500 short of the amount kids ages 4

to 8 need in an entire day.

Add in free refills on sodas and a sundae for dessert and

you could easily top the day's limit on calories and saturated

fat! Here are some example for the food which have lots of

calories: In America , an Applebee's grilled cheese sandwich

and fries has 900 calories and 21 gram of saturated fat! It's

really an eye-opening findings!

According to the reporters, they counted for7.1 percent of

the calories these people consumed in 1999-2000. Altogether,

the categories of soft drinks, sweets and desserts, and alcoholic

beverages contributed 23.8 percent of the calories that these

survey respondents consumed. Salty snacks and fruits-flavored

drinks added another five percent of calories. Since these foods

are relatively concentrated in calories, you don't have to eat a lot

of them to increase your daily calorie total.

Another study looking only at youths aged 8 to 18 reports

similar findings. Candy, table sugar, sweetened drinks,

baked and dairy desserts, salty snacks, fatty foods like

butter and gravy, along with some other nutrient-poor foods

made up more than 30 percent of the calories these youths

consumed. In fact, desserts and table sweeteners alone

comprised almost 25 percent of the total calories

Eat too much junk food, the fatty acids accumulate around

the heart, it also affect the pumping of blood from the heart,

decreased metabolic rate. If the person does not exercise,

get fatter and lower metabolic rate. Body cannot function,

so he or she will die!

Lastly, we need to eat well below the portion size offered

to avoid greatly exceeding recommended energy and fat

requirements. Fast food companies could play a major part

in halting the rise in obesity if they adopted a more positive

attitude to healthy eating such as providing meals of lower

energy density, appropriately marketed and with point-of-sale

nutrition labeling.
