History

foosball

Foosball is thought to have originated in the 20's or 30's in Germany. At this time every village had their own soccer teams. After victories the teams would go down to the local bars to celebrate. It is believed that they invented foosball as an after match game to imitate soccer. It caught on quickly and spread like wild fire across Europe. By the 1840's the game was being produced by many companies all of whom built the game slightly different with different shapes and colors. The game spread to the United States in the 50's but was not as popular and was simply considered a poor imitation of soccer. However by 1969 it became one of the most popular games in the United States. The amount of Foosball players is constantly growing and is one of the fastest growing sports in the world today.
