American school life is very similar to English school life. Schools in America are separated into private and public schools. These schools are separated into Primary or Grade School, Secondary or Middle School and College or High School. Grade school goes up to either the 6th, 7th or 8th year. Middle School goes up to the 12th year and when you leave school after the twelfth year you go on to college.
