Wesak
This is a Buddhist festival.

Wesak (or Visakha) is on the full moon day of the month
Visakha- usually in May or June.
At this
festival a large act of worship, or Puja, happens. This is
why the festival is sometimes called Visakha Puja. Often
captured
birds, fish or turtles (if you have them!) are released to show the
love and compassion of Buddha. Homes and Temples
are hung with lanterns and flowers, and flower offerings
are placed before the statue of Buddha. In the evening, processions go
round the temples with incense sticks, lit candles and flowers, before
the day ends with a night-long sermon
which tells of the great teachings of Buddha.
The teachings of the Buddha and the order of Monks which he founded are
the heart of Buddhism. The linking of the three main events of Buddha's
life on one day gives an occasion for remembering his teaching.
