Diwali
This is a Hindu festival.

Diwali (Row of lights) is
a that starts on the 13th
day of the dark fortnight of the month Ashwin (in October or November)
It lasts 3-5 days and finishes on the day of Diwali itself, usually on
the third day.
About a week before Diwali itself, homes, shops and offices are
re-decorated and cleaned. In every windows candles and lamps are
placed. On the 13th day of Ashwin, (see above) the Goddess of fortune
and wealth Lakshmi is worshipped.
Diwali
is a very complicated festival,
celebrated in many different ways,
but the most important parts are the worship of
Lakshmi
for good and honest trade, the start of the New
Year and
the finishing of the wicked Ravana.
