CATASTROPHE AVERTER

You are now entering a unique channel… the walls here echo with safety principles… the pathways are paved with care…  This is 'the catastrophe averter'! And we can guarantee you that you need not fear any calamity, any emergency, when in its care… This averter will take you through a journey where you will learn some of the ways in which "People can help people" to fight the fury of NATURE.

Many of us feel that it is meaningless to realize our responsibilities. We draw comfort thinking that disasters won’t fall on us. Perhaps that’s what the victims of the tsunami in South Asia had thought too. But just think, if each one was aware of disaster management principles, the death toll would have been much lower and many lives would have been saved. Indeed, if EVERYONE knows the ways of prevention and aid in case of a natural disaster, any person, any time, any place can prevent a disaster causing enormous casualties.

Take this interesting example…

On the day of the enormous Tsunami, precisely 15 minutes before the huge waves struck, a small boy informed his family that a Tsunami was bound to come as the boy was told of the symptoms before a tsunami by his teacher. He saved the life of his family and also of those people who were fortunate enough to believe the child. Now, imagine if everybody knew this fact. Would there have been so many injured, killed and missing. No never.

So, Team Pal Chhin presents the ‘catastrophe averter’ to tell you how YOU can make a significant difference.

STRATEGY  I   : Never Say No to Know
Sharpen your knowledge and understanding of disasters, their causes and disaster management. Stay informed of the dos and don’ts of any disaster-natural or man-made that your locality is most liable to.

STRATEGY  II  : Sahayata
You must know rules of ‘First Aid’ and always be ready to offer  ‘sahayata’ or help to those in need.

STRATEGY  III : Prepare and Unite
Don’t just keep the information to yourself, share it with your friends and your family.

STRATEGY  IV  : Care and Care more
Simple practices can avert major disasters. For instance, always try to make way for an ambulance or fire brigade, if stuck behind you. Each moment of life counts…

STRATEGY  V : Learn to Live
Cultivate a healthy life-style. Practice meditation and eat a balanced diet regularly to stay calm and composed in case of any emergency. Keep your property and your belongings insured.
