• TARGET AUDIENCE •

THE PAL CHHIN MOVEMENT is and shall be a movement of children, by the children and for the children.

As we thought of the target audience of our site, we asked ourselves several questions: First, what is our objective?
Second, how can we achieve our objective?

Our mission statement answers the first question; but answering the second question required extensive brainstorming. Yes! It meant sleepless nights, times when we felt like banging our heads on the wall, times when we had to argue with each other; it meant a lot of smiles, some tears, a lot of work and some play too. And then we realized that just as we are disturbed by disasters and the destruction they cause, children in other parts of the World would be too.

The students today form a determined and sensitive generation, don’t they? All they need is the right information and the right guidance! So we decided to make ‘Pal Chhin’ a platform for children. We realize that by educating children, we are not just preparing for the future, but also strengthening the present. For if a message reaches a child, it reaches his family, relatives, friends and neighbors. Thus by preparing children to face disasters, we are ensuring a “disaster resistant neighborhood”.

So kids the World over, as you surf the web-pages that we have put together, you would realize that you are browsing through your own ideas, hopes, fears, insecurities and beliefs. We have attempted to provide you a channel to overcome these fears and insecurities and to strengthen your ideas and beliefs. Further you can join the crusade against disasters and be a champion in your own community.
