Autopsy is an external and internal examination of the dead. It is also called necropsy and post mortem examination. The laws in America state that it is a requirement that every cause of death should be looked over by a doctor, but in serious deaths it should be reported to a coroner, who also investigates the body. CSI play an important role in autopsy, because they have very experienced scientist that verify the body after the investigation. If the scientist knows what happened to the body, and why he/she got killed, he does not have to look over the body, if his doesn't know what happened he would find out how he/she died. It could be a suicide, homicide, etc.
