Medals- 2006: Combined Gold

Ted Ligety is the youngest member of the U.S. Olympic Team. At 21, he rarely misses a moment to poke fun of the older racers. Ligety made his Olympic debut in Torino, winning in the combined. He came out of day one, Downhill, in the middle of the pack, but then bumped up with two of the day's best slalom runs. Most of Ligety's success in Alpine is in Slalom, however, he doesn't like to be deemed as a "slalom specialist". He plans to change his specialty as he moves on in his skiing career. Obviously, Ligety has a long way to go with the U.S. Olympic Team.
