Vincent Van Gogh

    born in 1853,in Zundert, Netherlands

              died in 1890,in Auvers-Sur-Oise, France

Vincent had a hard time deciding what to be. At first he was going to be an assistant teacher of French, then he tried as a social worker, then as a part-time preacher in West London. He finally decided to be a painter in 1880. He only sold one painting in his whole life called the "Red Vineyard" in 1888.

Three of his most famous paintings are “The Starry Night," "Sunflowers," and “Van Gogh’s Bedroom at Arles." The first panting he did is the “Potato-Eaters.” He loved doing  portraits of himself.

For a wile he lived with another painter named Paul Gauguin. They had a lot of fights about where and how was the better way to paint. He had a mental disability. And one night they got in a really big fight and Van Gogh could not control himself so he threatened to use a razor at Gauguin but stopped himself and cut  off part of his ear. He shot himself on July 27, 1890 and died 2 days after he shot himself.
