Leonardo da Vinci

    Leonardo grew up in the Tuscan Countryside. He was fascinated by insects and animals.

        His most famous painting is the “Mona Lisa”. He is said to be the greatest artist in the world.

    Throughout his long life he never stopped studying nature, plants, anatomy, the movement of water, the mechanics of flight, and applying his observations to his art. He was an artist, engineer, scientist, philosopher, musician, and an inventor.

    He began his career by painting portraits and religious pictures. Although he made only a few paintings, many of them were unfinished or destroyed. No one knows how or why he died. He had a great life and many people say he is the greatest person to live.
