Definition

Yellow fever is a tropical disease that is transmitted to humans by infected mosquitoes.

Causes

Yellow fever virus is the source of yellow fever. A person can contract the yellow fever when infected female mosquitoes bite them. The mosquitoes inject the virus into the bite.

 

Symptoms

Severe case:

 

The symptoms will show 3 to 6 days after the victim have been bitten by the infected mosquito.

 

Treatment

 

There is no specific treatment for yellow fever but many recovers after long period of resting. The victim needs to drink plenty of liquids and take ample of rest. They need to be quarantined from mosquitoes for the protection of others.
