About Us
With the rising
tide in the outbreak of epidemics such as the avian flu, our team thought it
would be useful to raise the awareness of various types of epidemics. These
would enable more people to understand the causes of these epidemics.
The Rising Tide team is made up of five students from Hwa Chong International School. Although we are from the same school, we are from different countries and also different levels of study. David, the team leader is from US. Melissa and Zon are Singaporeans while Fiona is from Indonesia. Hui Mei is from China. Working on this project has helped us to understand each other better and build stronger bonds. However, we do face conflicts due to our different working styles and also cultural perspective of matters.
As we are from different levels of studies, we used mostly online methods to communicate with one another. Some of these included MSN and also created a forum in our school’s academic portal. We do meet face to face at least once a week with our teacher mentor to update on the progress of the project.
