Glossary

  • Anthropomorphic: Attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects, animals, or natural phenomena.
  • Artificial: Made by humans; produced rather than natural.
  • BC: 'Before Christ' Means happened before Jesus Christ was born.
  • Biped:  An animal with two feet (bi means two)
  • Complex: Composed of two or more units.
  • Designated: To indicate or specify.
  • Dispose: Throw or cast away
  • DOF: Degrees of freedom
  • Draughtsman: a skilled worker who draws plans of buildings or machines.
  • Evolution: A gradual process in which something changes into a different and usually more complex form.
  • Exposition: A public expedition of artistic or industrial developments.
  • Figure: A shape of a particular something.        
  • Hazardous: Marked by danger; perilous.
  • Hitachi: A company that produces electrical entertainment devices. i.e. televisions, CD players, DVD players e.t.c
  • Humanoid: A robot that is designed in the form of a human.
  • Industrial: A stock or bond issued by an industrial enterprise.
  • Informational: A collection of facts or data.
  • Laboratories: A room or building equipped for scientific experimentation or research.
  • Maneuvering: A controlled change in movement or direction of a moving vehicle or vessel, as in the flight path of an aircraft.
  • Navigate: To control the course of a ship or aircraft.
  • NHK: The Japanese broadcasting corporation
  • Passively: Accepting or submitting without objection to what someone says.
  • Receptors:  A specialized cell or group of nerve endings that responds to sensory stimuli.
  • Subsystems: A system that is part of a larger system.
  • Symphony orchestra: A large orchestra composed of string, wind and percussion sections.
  • Tabor: A small drum, often with a snare.
  • Technological: Affected by or resulting from scientific and industrial progress.
  • Torso: The human body without the head and limbs.
  • Vents: An opening on the ocean floor that gives out hot water and dissolved minerals.
  • Volcanoes: An opening in the earth's crust through which molten lava, ash, and gases are thrown out in an eruption.
