In the early 1980's, heavy metal had many different genres including thrash metal, power metal, and black metal.Hair metal was a mixture of Glam rock and Heavy Metal. Hair metal bands became most popular by the lyrics talking about girls, drinking, drug use.. Hair metal musicians mostly have distorted guitar riffs, hammer-on guitar solos, strong tone choruses and crazy drumming.. Hair metal band werent famos for there long hair, life styles, make-up, and clothing they wered. Hair metal bands soon became combined with heavey metal such as Deff Leppard, Ratt, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne.
In the early 90's Hair metal was ridiculed by many people. Hair metal's popularity declined in 1991 with the new grunge music such as Alice In Chains, Nirvana, and Pearl Jam.
