Belief

There are many concepts that make up the Christian belief. The main focus however would be that God sent his one and only son to die for the sins of mankind as a ransom for the sins of man, so that after death, they would be able to live a long eternal live in Jesus Christ (Jn. 3:16).

The death and ressurection of Jesus play a major role in Christianity because this is what the very foundations of Christianity were built upon. The ressurection is the very heart of Christianity. In 1 Corinthians chapter 15, Paul reasoned...

"If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless, and so is your faith...we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God, that he raised Christ from the dead."

The ressurection was also the basis for the Christian hope of life after death.(1 Thess. 4:14), and without it, that hope was said to be baseless (1 Cor. 15:12-20)

Through out the years, there has been much controversy as to wether or not the ressurection of Christ was indeed fact or fiction. However, it has still always been a foundation of Christianity.

The idea in Christianity is this.

God looked down upon the earth, and saw how corrupt it had become. For this, he sent his one and only son. He chose a young virgin girl to concieve this child. This is another point that sparks controversy, because what we Christians see as a miracle of love is seen to many others as a myth, or a lie. Many people do not believe this "miracle" because it is logically impossible to give birth to a child having still been a virgin. The only other way this could be explained would be as an example of "Divine Intervention."

Divine Intervention in many religions is God intervening with us. A diety, or supernatural force that comes and performs a miracle that can not be done by man. A miracle, just as the birth of Jesus is an example of Divine Intervention.

As Jesus grew, he taught people how to live according to God's will, and many people followed him. However, just as there were those who loved him, and wished to serve him, there were those who hated him, and wished him dead. He was betrayed by the Jews, and condemned to a cross, where he was crucified. This is the symbol of Jesus shedding his blood in order to save mankind from the corrupted world that had become. 3 days after he was buried, he rose from the dead (Matt 28:5-6)

However, even then, not everyone fully believed that Jesus had risen. Some believed that his body had been stolen, and that his ressurection was just an act.

But Christians continue to believe that what the Bible says is true, and that Jesus Christ was indeed risen from the dead, leaving us to choose to believe or not on our own what happened.
