Through 'Chinese Beliefs & Superstitions: Its Fast-Fading Existence?', we aim to educate more people about the interesting and fascinating beliefs and superstitions held by the Chinese. This integral part of the Chinese culture is diverse and has a lot of variety, thus after being passed down from many generations, it could have been misintepreted. Gathering information from many sources, especially the elderly, we hope that we are able to provide a more accurate source of information on such beliefs and superstitions.

More importantly, we are investigating the troubling trend of increasing number of the younger generations losing interest in the Chinese beliefs and superstitions. Should the younger generations continue excluding the Chinese culture from their lives, one can only worry about the fate of the Chinese culture and the subsequent consequences.

Purpose of Website

The purpose of the website is to educate the public about Chinese beliefs and superstitions and its fast-fading existence. Even with the continuous progression of the modern world and globalization, Chinese beliefs and superstitions, a tradition since ancient times, still remain.  It is indeed a wonder how such staunch beliefs still remain even when science and technology are dominating the world.  Hence, we set about unlocking the myths behind such beliefs and find out its truth. Just what lies beyond these superstitions that are passed down from generation to generation?

Furthermore, with the world developing rapidly, the younger generation does not look upon such Chinese beliefs and superstitions strongly, and are skeptical towards it. Is this a sign for its fast-fading existence? Hence, we have also set upon finding out if this would be the trend for years to come, and if the beliefs uphold by ancestors would eventually be extinct.
