Books

Davies, W.V. . Egyptian Hieroglyphs (Reading the Past, Vol. 6). University of California Press June 1, 1988. Davies useful because it is made just for hieroglyphics and is only about them and nothing else.

Denver Museum of Natural History. Ramses II: The Great Pharaoh and His Time. City of Memphis, Tennessee. 1987. This book is a picture resource only. This book is useful because it shows us pictures from tomb stones and different meanings.

E. A. Wallis. An Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary: With an Index of English Words, King List, and Geographical List with Indexes, List of Hieroglyphic Characters, Coptic and Semitic Alphabets (Vol 1). Dover Publications (May 1, 1978). Volume 1 of the monumental work containing about 25,000 words or terms that occur in texts ranging from 3000 B.C. to 600 A.D. Each entry consists of a transliteration of the word, the word in hieroglyphs, and the meaning in English. Indispensable to serious student. I think that this is useful because of the amount of words and terms it has in it.
