Nursery

Location of Nurseries

Nurseries are the first year of the kindergarten system. Hence, all nurseries would be located within the kindergartens. These nurseries are located within easy access of residents, so as to provide for their needs.

As per kindergartens, nurseries are run by private organizations such as community foundations, business organizations and social organizations. These organizations would charge a basic school fee when the year starts and would provide the enrolled children with the necessary education to prepare them for the primary school.

Activities in Nurseries

Nurseries usually do not have formal classes where children would learn about certain languages or sciences. These classes are usually conducted in kindergartens where the children would be at an older age and more suited for content-based learning. Hence, in nurseries, children would engage in other fun-filled activities.

Children in nurseries would be exposed to a variety of games and activities largely to hone their social skills and movement abilities. The teachers who are trained in preschool education would carry out these games, teaching the children how to play the game. Through the games, children would learn about interpersonal skills where they have to work as a team and also about competitiveness when they are made to compete against each other.

Nurseries usually allocated a large portion of their curriculum time to games as it is acknowledged that children at a young age learn best in outdoor activities than indoor routine teaching. Hence, activities in nurseries are usually geared towards fun and games, such that children would learn indirectly about themselves and others around them.

Conclusion

Nurseries are effective learning centres that communicate points of learning to the young children through fun activities that the children would enjoy. Nurseries are usually the preferred choice by parents as it inculcates curiosity and desire for learning in the children, which are characteristics that are important in one’s life.

As nurseries only admit children at the age of 3, the children would be able to interact with peers of similar age as them. Enrolling children in these kindergartens would help to train their social skills before they enroll in primary schools. As the class size is smaller due to the fact that nursery education is not compulsory, teachers would be able to give more attention to each child, helping to develop the child to the best of his ability.
