Education is the key to one’s success. Without education, one can hardly imagine the state that our world would be in now. The importance of education is undisputable; it is globally acknowledged that education is the key factor that contributes to the development and evolution of mankind. Hence, with the importance of education in mind, we have set forth to embark on this ThinkQuest journey – to discover more about the Education System in Singapore.
Being part of the education system myself, it was a unique experience for me to research in-depth about the current education system that Singapore has. Through doing the research about our education system, I was able to understand more about the education systems that I have already undergone, the education system that I am currently undergoing, and even the education systems that I will be going through in the future. It was indeed an enriching experience to research about such issues that are so pertaining to our own lives.
In the process of researching for this ThinkQuest project, I have found myself to be unconsciously planning my future education route. It is through checking out all the available educations routes that the Singapore education system has to offer, that I have begun to note the academic requirements of the paths of my desire. This project has definitely encouraged me to take my future in my own hands; to work hard and strife for my own desired education career.
The process to completing this project was not all a smooth-sailing one. There are, no doubt, junctures in time when the members of our team have conflicting views. We all defended our views strongly, but were all open to constructive criticism from each other. Through such healthy discussions, we have always managed to reach a consensus, ensuring that the final decision that we make is a logical and united one.
As a whole, our ThinkQuest team has cooperated fairly smoothly throughout the completion of this project. There were little hiccups obstructing our paths and credit would definitely have to go towards our teacher-mentor for that. It is with her guidance and support that we have always managed to mount the challenges that once seemed impossible.
And after months of hard work, we are proud to present to you the fruit of our labour – this very website of ours. We certainly had fun in completing this project and it is our sincere hope that you would find our website to be an informative and enlightening read, shedding light on your education pathways.
As Aristotle once said "The roots of education are bitter, but the fruits are sweet", I hope that you would be able to taste the fruits of your labour in the time to come.
Be inspired. Start to take your future in your own hands.

Education is something that all of us go through, no matter at country we are in. It is a process that seems so short, but yet in fact, it is never ending. We continue to learn and get educated even till we are old and eighty. After all, there is always something new for us to learn every single day.
There are however, no doubt, differences between every individual’s education route. This is why our team chose to embark on this topic, hoping that the rest of the world can know the process which Singaporeans go through to become educated. This topic is closely related to me as I am still currently undergoing the process of being educated, and there is still so much things that I can and have to learn.Doing this project was like an adventure to me. I felt like I was hunting for something while doing this project, while doing the countless research and writing the articles for the webpage. I finally realized, what I was looking for and what I discovered, is how to continue my education process.Through doing the research for the Pre-University and Post-Secondary part of the website, two education processes which I have not yet gone through being only a Secondary student, I have realized the importance of education and the things I must achieve in order to continue on my path of desired education. This spurred me on and it showed me how flexible and broad my education can be. It showed me how I can do so much more with what I know, how I can contribute back to the society and be someone of use. I must say that this experience has indeed being an enlightening one for me.This website is the result of many months of hard work, our team cooperated fairly smoothly and we had lots of fun doing this project. It took up many sleepless nights, tireless research and even involved some tiny squabbles among ourselves, but we kept each other going and enjoyed each other’s company and finally, the website is completed. We hope that you guys enjoy viewing the website just as much as we enjoyed building it. For those that are still currently going through the education process, I also hope that you have learned to take more charge of your education process and found your pathway of destiny on how you want to continue your education. I hope that this website can be an inspiration to all of you.Bor Ray (Last name not shown)
Education is a life process and a process for life. From the day we are born to the day we die, we constantly increase our knowledge and our wisdom. The first steps of a child were not due to divine intervention or natural instinct but rather the process in which parents teach their children, holding their hands as they take each tentative step.
In that same way, formal education is a important aspect of life, with teachers and schools in place of our parents. Our Team chose to embark on this topic in order to learn more about the education system and process in Singapore to show the world how this great journey of education begins and ends in our side of the world. Furthermore, being students ourselves, we used this as an opportunity to look to our academic future and examine its past, so as to understand how our education has developed over the years.
Through the tireless research and writing, I found that i did not know much about my own country's education system despite being a secondary school student. I learned about the other education systems in place for different kinds of students from other schools, and my world view was no longer confined to my own classroom. I no longer view other systems with distrust but rather embrace them as part of our diversity.
Completing this project was not a mere cruise through still water. We had many arguments and conflicting views. We subjected each other's essays and research to harsh and critical comments. However, these petty squabbles and vigorous discussions helped us polish the quality of our work to create the website in what we felt was a job well done.
We sincerely hope our website gives you, the viewer, an enlightening and informative read.

The Singapore education system has been very successful at providing Singapore with an educated workforce. There are many foreigners who come to Singapore to study and the Singapore government aims to turn the country into an education hub in Asia. Through this project, we hope to share with students of other country how the Singaporean system works and some of its unique features. Of course, every system is imperfect and we also explore some of the complaints that exist amongst Singaporeans. This project has not only allowed us to share this with others, but it has also taught us certain things that we did not know before.
