Profession: Manager at the Wing Luke Asian Museum

We decided to interview Amarra who happens to be the manager at the Wing Luke Asian Museum becauese we thought she knew a lot about the International District. After all she was in charge of the museum so she had to know at least something about the International District.
1) What about Chinatown/ International District most represents you and why?
A:The Wing Luke Asian Museum. The place showcases in it's exhibits, the history and culture of many Asian groups.
2) What past memory do you remember most about Chinatown/ International District?
A: It's just seeing many many people come through the area and shop at small markets for good deals on Asian food products
3) What do you know about Chinatown/ International District's history?
A: Most importantly, I know that Chinatown was formed when the white Anglos segregated and discriminated against the Chinese laborers (among other laborers of color). Since they were restricted from other places, they had to settle in today's Seattle Chinatown/ International District area.
4) How was Chinatown/ International District changed since you have first remembered it? And when was the first time you saw Chinatown/ International District?
A: When I was five years old. I don't think it has changed a whole lot except for new businesses near Union Station for example.
5) Name something good in the past about Chinatown/ International District? Something bad?
A: A Asian American community formed. Chinatown is not just a business district, but a social service district. The bad aspect are the people that over look the importance of Chinatown/ International District and try to invade the area with their corporation.
6) Name something good in the present about Chinatown/ International District? Something bad?
A: Seeing how the area is growing. The competition for good parking spots.
