About Us

We decided to focus our project on starvation in Ethiopia because wanted to raise awareness about the hunger crisis abroad. We chose Ethiopia because it has suffered considerably from food crisis and we feel that its problems are representative of similar problems throughout history and Africa.

After beginning research, we realized that starvation is very complex and has resulted from many factors, from politics to natural resources. We attempted to convey as many aspects of starvation as possible. We chose to investigate the crisis from scientific, social, political and economic standpoints so as to provide as thorough an analysis as possible.

We found it very difficult to convey the terrors of starvation without having experienced them ourselves. As Americans, we have never been subjected to such a daunting and horrific predicament. We therefore geared our website towards people like us who would find it difficult to comprehend the magnitude of starvation.

About our team:

We are three students from Ward Melville High School from Long Island, New York, currently in our junior year. Although we each come from very different backgrounds, we all share a common interest in the welfare of mankind and joined together on this project.
