Sekhmet was the cat goddess of war. She was always thirsty for blood and wanted to destroy. She rode to battle with the pharaoh and protected him. She could bring sickness and disease upon the world. She was a daughter of Re. She was called “The Eye of Re” because she almost destroyed all mankind after Re ordered her to punish humans because the disobeyed him(Re and creation).

Once Sekhmet came back to Re he changed her into Hathor.

       Hathor was the goddess of love, music, art and dance. Hathor brought joy to all. She even danced for Re when he was upset. Hathor was also the cow goddess.
