| Osiris
is the Egyptian god of the underworld and of vegetation. He was the sun
of Nut and Geb. Osiris is the brother of Nephthys and Seth, and the
brother and husband of Isis. He was depicted as a wrapped mummy in human
form holding the crook and flail. He had green skin, which was alluding
to his role as the god of vegetation. One of the so called “dying
gods” was the focus of a famous legend in which he had been killed by
