When Isis was searching for Horus’s body seven scorpions protected her. After searching for many nights they were passing through a town. When the noble woman of that town saw them she slammed the door on Isis.

While Isis was taking refuge in the home of a peasant six of the scorpions gave there poison to the seventh. the seventh scorpion inserted the poison into his stinger. Then he went to get revenge on the woman by stinging her son. The noblewoman went to ask Isis for help. Isis went to the child.

She spoke magic words and named the scorpions. Since she controlled the scorpions now she also controlled their poison. She expelled the poison from the boy and he was able to live many more years.
