The "targets" that are aimed at when standing are 115 millimeters in diameter (4.76 inches) and are 45 millimeters (1.76 inches) for prone shots. One minute is added to the competitor's final time for each missed shot. Bobsledding results are based on the total time it takes for each sled to complete four heats. Cross-Country Skiing winners are determined by the first racer to finish. Men are required to race 15, 30, and 50 kilometers plus a 40-kilometer relay. Women are required to race a distance of 5, 10, 20 kilometers, and a 20-kilometer relay. In Ski Jumping the scores are based on the distance and form of the two jumps each competitor makes. Each team has four jumpers in the team jumping competition. The three highest scores in each of two rounds are added together to determine the total team score.
