Paul Alivisatos

Born: November 12th, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois



Paul Alivisatos is an American scientist whose work concerns nanocrystals and their properties. He began his career in nanotechnology in 1986, when he joined AT&T Bell lab, where he performed research. In 2003, he was became director of the Materials Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Physical Society. Furthermore, he is co-editor of the notable nanotechnology journal Nano Letters.
