Witchcraft is not
really a certain religion. All cultures have some sort of superstitious
view of some type of magic, mainly in Africa and other places where civilization
is rare. This religion that the culture
in the area labels Magic” is commonly known as Witchcraft because
of the superstitious views of the people around the religion the populace
can either is for the religion, or against it. Based on the views of the
people, Witchcraft is good, evil or strictly neither of the two. Some
people have associated Witchcraft with people with bad luck, suddenly
dieing or catching diseases and other such inflictions. Other people have
made ways to counter the “Magic” with practices that are exactly
the same as the Witch in question. Other cultures have the religion as
the main bases for their society and pray normally to whatever god(s)
might be the divine patron there. The main religions in the world, (Christianity,
Judaism and Islam) are the main pushers of the “Satanic Worship”
theory because of the use of rituals so differing from their own, and
to try and abolish the religion and gain followers and glory into their
own. Some new religions, such as Neopagan’s and Wiccan’s say
that Witchcraft is the religions key element in their beliefs.
