Question: How is AI being used for fun?

Intelligent toys and robots enthrall audiences. AI video games modify their behavior while being played to conform to actions taken by the user. Chatter bots “converse” with people in real time. Computer programs are used to make sports predictions, and autonomous robots actually play the sports. These cutting-edge forms of entertainment are proof of the advancement of AI and its increasing presence in our lives; they are also fun to play with.

There are many uses for a toy or game that can be made to be “smart”. For instance, the military is developing an artificially intelligent computer game that teaches its new recruits to learn Arabic quickly and thoroughly. Because the game is as intelligent as it is interesting, soldiers learn the language much more quickly than they have previously either in regular classes or when using other simpler, nonintelligent computer programs.

Benefits like these make it all but inevitable that at some point almost all games will be infused with Artificial Intelligence in one form or another. Games implementing Artificial Intelligence will probably become more and more common as time marches on, and they will create new technologies useful beyond gaming as they make both learning and entertainment more interesting.
