Islam is the religion of Abraham, David, Moses, and Jesus, Muhammad, along with all the other prophets. You can’t be a Muslim if you didn’t believe in all of God’s prophets. Islam is the last religion branching off of Judaism. Every Muslim must believe in Allah (God) and the Prophet Muhammad. You must also follow the Five Pillars:
The first pillar- You must believe in Allah and Muhammad
The second pillar- Pray five times a day
The third pillar- Must fast (Ramadan)
The fourth pillar- Give to the poor (Charity and kindness should be done willingly and not because of fear of punishment.)
The last pillar- Pilgrimage (Pilgrimage is where you circle the Ka’Ba, the house of Allah.)
The Islamic symbol is the "Chand Sitara." The symbol includes a crescent and a star. The star represents the five five pillars. The crescent moon is used as a traditional start point in many celebrations.
Muslims
believe in angels. The angels do the work of Allah and follow his orders. Angels
are honored creatures who worship Allah. Muslims also believe in “Paradise.”
If you enter Paradise you will live a very joyfully and happy life. There will
be no sicknesses, pain, grief, or death. Allah will be pleased with you and you
will live forever.
