 Greek's belief of Creation

There are many different ways people thought everything was created; the Greeks believed a bird created the gods. In many cultures, like the Greek's, the belief is that there was darkness before time.

How Everything was Created

At first, everything was darkness, a vastness of nothing layed. There was only one thing in this nothingness: a black bird. The bird laid a golden egg, from which two creatures hatched. Land, which was called Eros (Earth), and a sky, named Uranus. These two gods fell in love, and had many children, whom became the rulers of the universe. One of these children were Cronos, who created the Olympian gods and the Titan gods.

How Humans Were Created

Zeus, when he was an adult, saw that Earth was lacking creatures. So he instructed his brother, Prometheus, to create humans on Earth. After a long time, Prometheus realized that humans died because of raw food, so he created fire.
