Stories about Siamese
Twins
Lazarus and Joannes Baptista Colloredo were born in Italy, they were parasitic twins, a rare type of conjoined twin where one of the pair does not form fully and remains physically dependent on the other. Joannes' body had begun to atrophy in the womb, appeared to grow out of Lazarus's torso. They lived into their thirties.
Mary and Jodie were born in St Mary's Hospital in Manchester, northern England, on August 8. They are joined at the abdomen and share one heart and one pair of lungs. Doctors say Mary depends entirely on Jodie for her blood and both will die if surgery is not carried out soon enough. Some doctors say that if they get surgery one twin will die but they can save the other twin.
