Becoming a surgeon is a worth while career. My family friend, Keri, is becoming a physician assistant and she must learn about surgery. She states, “I love being able to use this understanding of sciences to learn about medicine and eventually be able to actually help others.” The surgeon is responsible for helping others have healthier and longer lives. These people who work to become surgeons have had to attend many years of intense schooling. Kerri stated, “Some of the worst experiences with choosing this career are how long you are in school. I graduated from college after 4 years, am in medical school for 4 years and then residency for another 5 years. During this time you are studying everyday and it is sometimes tough to see a movie, go to a party, watch TV, or even talk to friends.” Surgeons also have many responsibilities not only for their patients but with everyone they work with. At least they get paid excellent money for all their hard work. Keri concluded with this piece of advice.
