History of F

At first the F was a W. The Semites called it a hook or a club. Then the Phoenicians took it
and just took off half of the circle of the top, but it still stayed as a W. Then soon the
Etruscans took it in and at first it was still a W then they got an idea to change it to f
prononced [ef] . Sooner or later the Greeks took it and didn' t change it.
Right now in the English alphabet f is the 6th letter in our alphabet.
